So as most of you know CAT has been around for a decent amount of time and they have spent their years creating and providing great construction boots. What is great about CAT boots is that not only are they functional but they are also pretty stylish so that you can feel a little fancy even if you work with concrete and mud all day long.
The specific work boot I want to talk about today is the Caterpillar Men’s Diagnostic Waterproof Steel-Toe Work Boot. I will discuss the pros and cons of this boot as well as give a description and overall review.
•Tongue opens extra wide to allow easy slip on and off
•Removable EVA insoles featuring Gel Technology
•200 grams of insulation for extra warmth
•Nylon mesh lining to keep away moisture
•Electric hazard rating
•Ladder Grip Technology
• Not 100 % waterproof
• Not as durable as other high-end work boots
This boot is really awesome sauce for the amount of features it has. The leather itself is soft and comfortable but also has the added benefit of being waterproof. Also with the extra insulation and the nylon mesh lining your feet will stay toasty during the coldest months and cool during the warmest months. This is an ideal boot if you work in construction or any form of light industrial conditions.
Will These Boots Keep Me Safe?
The steel-toe on this boot is guaranteed to protect your toes against falling/rolling objects so that you can go about your day. What is also nice is that the steel-toe is very flexible so if you are someone who bends down a lot on the job you don’t have to worry about your toes wearing away.
The Caterpillar boot also comes with ladder grip technology which is designed to give you sure footing on ladders and rough terrain. The boot also has an electric hazard rating to keep you safe around open circuits.
How Comfortable Are They?
If there is one thing that Caterpillar are known for it is making very comfortable boots and the Men’s Diagnostic Waterproof Work Boot is no exception. This boot comes with removable EVA insoles that feature gel technology.
These soles are designed to absorb impact, protecting your feet and providing an immense about of comfort, and they are also anti-microbial which will help control any foot odor you may have. This boot is also big on support, it has a high cut six inch at the back which provides massive support increasing further stability that one has on the ground to prevent any unnecessary trips and falls.
How Long Will They Last?
This depends on how well made the boot you receive is. Even though CAT is a well-known company, there have been unfortunately reported incidents of this particular boot falling apart around the 3-6 month period.
Some people have stated that this boot has lasted them over a year but it should be known that some of the manufactures of this boot do not make them as well or as properly as other manufactures.
